Following the successful Thong Chai’s 155^th Anniversary Charity Dinner in September 2022, an appreciation dinner was held at Yan Palace Restaurant (Hong Lim Complex) on 27^th October 2022 to thank all directors and staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the fundraising event.

The dinner was an in-house event, with STCMI's Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Lim Guan Lee as the Guest of Honour (GOH). Other distinguished guests included Senior Honorary Chairman Mr. Wong Swee Chun PBM, Honorary Chairpersons Mr. Loh Siew Hock, Mdm. Thia Sia Eng, Mr. Chu Chee Keong, Mr. Robert Gho, Mr. Chow Bon Tong, Mr. Ang Chin Koon, Mr. Oh Boon Shi Tome, STCMI Legal Advisor Ms. Jennifer Lim Lay Choo PMB, and Honorary Advisor Mr. Khoo Boo Liat.

Physician Zheng Huangfang and Physician Tan Quan Ming were the hosts of the event. The evening kicked off with an accordion solo performance by International Musicians Association Singapore. STCMI Honorary Secretary Mr. Low Theng Whee gave an opening address, expressing the institution’s gratitude to everyone who had contributed in one way or another to our clinical operations and fundraising events. All efforts, regardless how small and insignificant they might seem, would go a long way for all patients, and for that, the institution was extremely thankful.

During STCMI Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Lim’s earnest speech, he commended the institution for adhering to its founding principles and staying in high solidarity despite changing times. Over the years, our hard work had gained recognition from the public and the institution was extremely thankful for the unwavering support from all walks of life. In his 12-year term of office, Mr. Lim had seen the company through many ups and downs, and remained grateful to have grown and served as a family. He praised the new leadership board for pushing the institution to greater heights, and was thrilled to see more breakthroughs in the company’s future progress.

After his speech, Mr. Lim presented appointment certificates to the newly instated Senior Honorary Chairmen and Honorary Chairmen who had contributed tremendously to the fundraising event.

After which, Vice Chairmen Mr. Teo Kek Yeng and Mr. Lim Tiang Chuan presented Long Service Award to 21 physicians and staff in recognition of their faithfulness and commitment to the organization.

All directors then went onstage for the wine-toasting ceremony, wishing the best for the institution. The night ended with a finale Guzheng Solo performance of a classical Chinese Song ‘A Glass of Wine’. The institution would like to take this opportunity to thank Chairman Yeo for generously sponsoring the dinner.
