Based on the characteristics of the patients treated in the past years, this department will focus it's treatment in the following areas:

(i) Treatment of gastric carcinoma after gastrectomy
(ii) Treatment of lung cancer by Traditional Chinese Medicine
(iii) Treatment of gynecologic tumor by Traditional Chinese Medicine
(iv) Treatment of cancer of the pharynx by Traditional Chinese Medicine in conjuction with chemotherapy
(v) Treatment of tumor by Traditional Chinese Medicine during and after chemotherapy

Diagnosis should be confirmed after careful examination. Only then will treatment be given based on an overall analysis of the illness and the patient's condition.

Established on Jan 1st, 1993, the department was first attached to the hospital. The Research Centre took over it's management in November 1994. In the past several years, it mainly served as a specialist clinic. We plan to carry out clinical research as well as provide medical treatment in the future. In view of the fact that the location, climate and life styles are different between China and Singapore, the department plans to draw up a set of guidelines fot the treatment of tumors by incorporating the treatment adopted in China with the clinical experiences of the senior physician in the hospital, namely, Chan Meng.
