Clinical research on herbal treatment of all renal and urological illnesses, focusing on the following:

(i) Pre-requisite for treatment
(a) Result of tests taken less than 2 weeks before shows albuminuria in the urine, hematuria and abnormal functioning of the kidney.

(b) X-ray, ultrasound and MRI detected kidney calculus and ureterolith

(c) Urethritis, uricystitis and sensitive urinary tract.

(d) Pathology and medical reports on biopsy of kidney

(ii) Treatment:
(a) Treatment using pure Chinese herbs in conjuction with distotherapy and lifestyle adjustment.

(b) Treatment of kidney ailment emphasizes on eliminating the primary causes of the illness and assisting the patient to early recovery. For chronic kidney failure patients, every effort will be made to preserve kidney function and delay kidney failure. Treatment for hemodialysis patients aims to enhance the quality of life and reduce the frequency as well as prevent complication.

This department was established on 1st Jan, 1987. In the first year, the group studied both Chinese and Western medical theories for one year, followed by 4 month clinical practices. It has served as a specialist clinic since May 1st, 1987.
